SOROTI CITY, UGANDA — Hon. Isaac Orego’s campaign for Soroti City East has gained remarkable momentum after thousands of supporters poured into Aloet to rally behind him ahead of the 2026 general elections. The overwhelming turnout marked one of the strongest demonstrations of grassroots support in the constituency so far, signaling a major boost for Orego’s growing political wave.

The atmosphere in Aloet was electrifying as supporters—youth, women, elders, and local leaders—gathered in solidarity, chanting pro-Orego slogans and carrying banners showcasing their confidence in his leadership. The massive gathering reflected a public hunger for change, development, and a more responsive representation.

As he addressed the crowd, Hon. Orego thanked the people of Aloet for their unwavering support, describing the turnout as a clear endorsement of his message of transformation.

“Your presence here today sends a powerful message,” Orego said. “This campaign is about restoring dignity, creating opportunities, and building a future where every family in Soroti City East can thrive. I am committed to delivering a leadership that listens, acts, and delivers results.”

In his campaign message, Orego laid out key priorities he intends to champion once elected. Chief among them is industrial growth for Soroti City East, a sector he believes can unlock thousands of jobs for unemployed youth and boost the local economy.

He also emphasized the need to improve road infrastructure, especially in areas where poor roads have hindered business activity, transport, and access to essential services. Orego pledged to advocate for better funding toward feeder roads and urban development.

On education and youth empowerment, he promised to support initiatives that strengthen technical skills, innovation hubs, and scholarship opportunities for talented students.

“Our young people must be at the center of development,” he noted. “A city cannot grow when its youth are left behind. My campaign is rooted in empowering them with skills, capital, and meaningful opportunities.”

Health service improvement also featured prominently in his speech. Orego pledged to push for better-equipped health centers, increased staffing, and improved drug supply chains so that residents no longer struggle to access essential care.

Community voices at the rally echoed similar expectations.

Sarah Aciru, a resident of Aloet, said the turnout was evidence of trust in Orego’s ability to deliver.

“We want a leader who is present, who listens, and who knows our struggles. Orego has shown that he cares about us,” she said.

Another supporter, Peter Edeket, praised Orego’s inclusive campaign.

“He engages everyone—youth, elders, business people. That is the kind of leadership we need,” he said.

Political analysts note that the Aloet rally has strengthened Orego’s campaign visibility and solidified his position as a strong contender for the 2026 elections. With such impressive mobilization, his message of development and unity appears to be resonating deeply across Soroti City East.

As the campaign season intensifies, Hon. Isaac Orego is expected to continue strengthening his grassroots engagement, unveiling more policy plans and connecting directly with communities throughout the constituency.
