Soroti Doctor Dead, Another Injured in Awoja Road Crash Involving Kakise Bus
Soroti City, Uganda A tragic road accident on the night leading to Sunday has claimed the life of a doctor and left another person injured after a collision between a Kakise bus and a private vehicle in Soroti City.
The fatal crash occurred along the Awoja road section when a vehicle belonging to the doctor collided head-on with the Kakise bus, which was traveling in the opposite direction. According to eyewitness accounts, the impact of the crash left the doctor’s car severely damaged.
Authorities confirmed that the doctor died on the spot, while a passenger in the car sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Soroti Regional Referral Hospital for emergency treatment. Passengers on the bus reportedly escaped with minor injuries.
Traffic police have launched investigations into the cause of the accident, with initial reports pointing to possible speeding and poor visibility at night.
Residents and road users have raised concerns over increasing accidents along the Awoja road stretch, calling on authorities to enhance road safety measures.
