Soroti city athletics team leave this morning for Kitgum district.
The primary schools athletics team heading to Kitgum for the National kids athletics games kicking off tomorrow has this morning been flagged off by the technical and political leaders of Soroti city.
This year according to the Chairperson headteachers associations soroti city Alfred Enyidu and Emmanuel Etiaku the Soroti city they have hopes in the team going since most stakeholders have come in to give support as compared to last year.
They added that in the previous year they were left alone without any support while in Hoima for the National competition and they attributed the poor performance to inability by the city to facilitate the team.
James Obore the deputy Soroti city clerk acknowledged the gaps of last year and said this time around the city has given full support to the team going for nationals.
Meanwhile Hon. Joan Acom Alobo the city woman memebr of parliament challenged the participants not to involve themselves in issues of alcohol while in Kitgum
She also challenged parents and all stakeholders to support their children in developing the talents they have got.
