SOCADIDO Hosts Stakeholder Meeting to Support Smallholder Farmers

In a concerted effort to enhance the livelihoods of smallholder farmers, the Soroti Catholic Diocese Integrated Development Organization (SOCADIDO) is currently holding a two-day meeting focused on the Ateker Development Foundation Multi-Actors Partnership Project (ADEFO-MAP).
The gathering, taking place in Eneku Village, aims to identify potential stakeholders who can play a pivotal role in improving conditions for local farmers.
Ben Boham Okiror, the program Manager for ADEFO-MAP, emphasized the importance of this meeting, stating that it serves as a platform to identify the risks faced by smallholder farmers and to develop strategies to mitigate these challenges. āOur goal is to bring together various stakeholders to discuss solutions that can directly benefit farmers and ultimately improve their income levels,ā Okiror remarked.
The meeting has attracted a diverse group of participants, including representatives from civil society organizations, academia, the private sector, and local government agencies. This collaborative approach seeks to harness the strengths of various sectors to create a more impactful support system for farmers.
Throughout the discussions, attendees will identify organizations that can provide direct support to farmers, including access to resources, training, and markets. The insights gained from this meeting are expected to lay the groundwork for initiatives that empower farmers and foster sustainable agricultural practices.
As the meeting continues, stakeholders are encouraged to share knowledge and experiences that can lead to the development of innovative solutions tailored to the unique challenges faced by smallholder farmers in the region.
