Shakib Lutaya Apologizes for Remarks About Wife Zari Hassan After Public Dispute

Shakib Lutaya has expressed remorse over the critical comments he made about his wife, Zari Hassan, following a public fallout on social media.
According to Lutaya, a private conversation in which he spoke negatively about Zari was secretly recorded and leaked by someone he considered a close friend. This incident came after Zari publicly criticized Shakib for questioning her decision to host Tanzanian artist and the father of her children, Diamond Platnumz, during his visit to South Africa.

In a recent interview, Shakib explained, “I didn’t release the audio. A friend called me after Zari’s live video went viral, and I was still upset. I was really hurt by what I saw. I don’t have many friends who check on me, and when they did, I spoke out of anger. It wasn’t intentional. I had no idea I was being recorded. Even though I was angry, there are things I wouldn’t have shared.”
Zari, on her part, has apologized to Shakib, acknowledging that her outburst on social media came from a place of frustration. She shared that her recent trip to Kampala was intended to reconcile with her husband and admitted that airing her grievances online was a mistake.

Zari conceded that she allowed her emotions to take control and chose “the wrong platform” to express her feelings.
Earlier, in August, Zari had taken to social media to address her husband, reminding him of his relatively small role in her life and advising him to be more careful in their relationship. This came after Shakib expressed discomfort with Zari hosting Diamond Platnumz, who had traveled to South Africa for their daughter Tifah’s birthday celebration.
