Reverend John Robert Ojulong of Kagwara Church of Uganda Archdeaconry has called on politicians currently campaigning for the 2026 general elections to adopt tithing as a gesture of gratitude and a pathway to divine blessings.

The appeal was made during a well-attended church service on Sunday, 30th November 2025, at Kagwara Church of Uganda.

The service was graced by several political aspirants, including Peter Paul Emaju, the NRM flag bearer for Kasilo County MP; Eng. Martin Onguruco, the NRM LCV flag bearer for Serere District; and Bernard Odikor, LC3 Chairperson of Kagwara Town Council, among others.

In his sermon, Rev. Ojulong emphasized that tithing—giving 10% of one’s income—is a biblical and systematic way of honoring God and unlocking divine blessings.

Eng. Martin Onguruco expressed appreciation for Rev. Ojulong’s message, vowing to start tithing within his family and to continue supporting church activities if elected as the next LCV chairperson. Onguruco also raised concerns over the poor state of local infrastructure, including the deteriorating Kagwara-Kadungulu road, as well as issues in healthcare and education sectors.

Bernard Odikor, the LC3 Chairperson of Kagwara Town Council, urged residents to vote wisely, emphasizing the strategic importance of the LCV seat for grassroots service delivery.
