Priests and Archdeacons warned against thoughts of amassing wealth
The Bishop of Soroti Catholic Diocese, Dr. Joseph Eciru Oliach, has warned priests and deacons against harboring thoughts of amassing wealth using their status.
The warning was made during the priestly and deaconate ordination of six priests and one deacon at Regina Caeli animated by Bukedea dinery over the weekend.
According to Bishop Eciru, priesthood is not for those who are in it for personal gain.
The event was attended by the Speaker of Parliament, Anita Annet Among, who praised families for mentoring their children and allowing them to pursue a career in priesthood.

In a message read out by Vice President Maj. (Rtd) Jessica Alupo Epel, President Museveni commended the Catholic diocese leadership for their transformation efforts and donated 20 million shillings towards the construction of a new church.
