Politicians in Pallisa warned Against Early Campaigns
BY OPIO ALFRED
Pallisa, Uganda – Politicians in Pallisa district have been put on notice by the deputy resident district commissioner, Hajati Nakusi, who has warned them against engaging in early campaign activities.
According to Nakusi, some politicians in the district have already begun canvassing for votes even though it is not yet time for political campaigns.
This early politicking has had a negative impact on service delivery in the district as elected leaders are distracted and not fully focused on their duties.
Nakusi expressed her concern over the situation, stating that it is unfair to the residents of Pallisa who rely on their leaders to provide services and address their needs.

She warned that any politicians caught engaging in early campaigns will face consequences for their actions.
“We cannot allow politicians to take advantage of their positions for personal gain at the expense of the people they were elected to serve. We will not hesitate to take action against those who continue to engage in early politics,” Nakusi stated.
Nakusi urged politicians to focus on their roles as leaders and work towards improving the lives of the people in Pallisa district. She emphasized the importance of putting the needs of the community first and refraining from engaging in activities that could negatively impact service delivery.
As the deputy resident district commissioner, Nakusi has vowed to closely monitor the actions of politicians in the district and ensure that they adhere to the regulations regarding campaign activities.
She has called on all politicians to respect the rules and regulations in place and to prioritize the interests of the people they serve.
