People of Dakabela urged to prioritize tree planting this Season

The people of Dakabela County in Soroti District have been urged to prioritize tree planting as the rains return..

Opit William aspiring to Contest for the Dakabela County Member of Parliament emphasized the importance of planting trees as a way of conserving the environment, particularly in light of the recent heat wave that was experienced in the region due to environmental degradation.

Opit stressed that while it is essential to focus on planting crops during this season, it is equally important to consider the benefits of planting trees for the long-term sustainability of the environment.

He encouraged the community to come together and take action to protect their surroundings by planting more trees.

Eucalyptus wood is highly valued for its strength, durability, and versatility, and is used in a variety of products, including construction, paper, and furniture.

In addition to his environmental advocacy, Opit also addressed the issue of domestic violence in families during the Easter season.

He highlighted the link between domestic violence and economic hardship, noting that tensions can escalate when husbands struggle to provide for their families.

Opit called on families to prioritize open communication, respect, and mutual support in order to prevent domestic violence from occurring.

He urged both husbands and wives to work together to ensure the well-being of their household and to seek help from relevant authorities if needed.

As the community prepares for the Easter season, Opit’s message serves as a reminder of the importance of environmental conservation and maintaining healthy relationships within families.

By taking action to plant trees and prevent domestic violence, the people of Dakabela County can create a safer and more sustainable future for generations to come.
