Pallisa District Environment Officer Calls for Community Action to Protect Environment
Abraham Omasai, the Environment Officer for Pallisa district, has issued a call to residents urging them to take action to protect the environment.
In an interview with our reporter, Omasai expressed concerns over the rampant destruction of the environment in the district, including the cutting down of trees and encroachment on wetlands for economic activities such as charcoal burning, brick-making, and rice cultivation.
Omasai highlighted the detrimental effects of environmental degradation on the climate, noting that the destruction of trees and wetlands, which play a crucial role in attracting rainfall, has contributed to climate change in the country.

He emphasized the need for community members to be educated on the importance of environmental conservation to ensure favorable climatic conditions are maintained.
With the environment facing significant threats from human activities, Omasai’s call for community action to protect the environment in Pallisa district is a crucial step towards sustainable environmental stewardship.
Residents are urged to take responsibility for safeguarding the environment and preserving it for future generations.
