Katakwi believers asked to stick to purity as they celebrate Easter.
BY OLINGA EMMANUEL
KATAKWI: As Christians around the world celebrate Easter, believers in Katakwi district have been urged to stick to purity and righteousness.
During a sermon at the Aleles Church of Uganda, Sam Odeke, the lay reader, emphasized the importance of staying true to the teachings of Jesus Christ during this holy week.
Quoting from the scriptures of Luke 24:1, 2 Corinthians 5:14, and Jeremiah 7:1, Odeke reminded the faithfuls to shun sinful acts and focus on God’s Will.
Odeke also called on parents to be role models for their children and to lead their families towards salvation. He cautioned couples to be transparent in their relationships in order to build lasting marriages.
In a bold statement, Odeke addressed the issue of Muslims adoring the moon, stating that the moon is not God and should not be worshipped.
He urged them to turn to the God who created the moon and all things in order to find true light and salvation.
