Hon. Omoding Emmanuel Sponsors Free Dental Medical Camp at Serere Health Center IV
Residents of Serere County are set to benefit from a free dental medical camp at Serere Health Center IV, thanks to the generosity and commitment of Hon. Omoding Emmanuel, Member of Parliament for Serere County. The camp will run from 28th July to 1st August 2025, providing essential dental health services at no cost.
The initiative aims to address the pressing oral health challenges that many rural communities face due to limited access to dental care and the high cost of treatment. With oral health being a critical component of general well-being, the camp is expected to make a significant impact by treating common dental conditions and promoting preventive care practices.
Dental care remains one of the most neglected aspects of healthcare in many parts of Uganda, particularly in rural areas like Serere. Many residents struggle with tooth decay, gum disease and other oral health complications but cannot afford treatment. This medical camp will offer free extractions, dental cleaning, cavity treatment and oral health education, relieving hundreds of households of the financial burden that comes with dental care.
Speaking about the program, Hon. Omoding Emmanuel emphasized his unwavering commitment to improving healthcare access for his constituents.
“Health is the foundation of development. Our people cannot work, study or live productively when they are in pain due to preventable dental issues. This camp is part of our continuous effort to ensure that every citizen of Serere County has access to quality healthcare, regardless of their financial situation,” said Hon. Omoding.
Since being elected as Member of Parliament for Serere County, Hon. Omoding Emmanuel has been recognized for his proactive approach to community development. His focus on education, healthcare and infrastructure has positioned him as a transformative leader in the district.
Earlier this year, he spearheaded several initiatives, including education support programs, bursaries for needy students and advocacy for improved road networks to connect rural communities to markets and essential services. The dental camp is yet another milestone in his broader vision of creating a healthier, more empowered Serere.
Hon. Omoding believes that investment in health not only saves lives but also boosts productivity. Poor oral health has been linked to other chronic conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and malnutrition. By tackling dental issues early, the community will reduce hospital admissions and improve overall quality of life.
The dental medical camp will be conducted by a team of qualified dentists and medical professionals, who will work tirelessly over the five day period to attend to patients. Services will include:
Tooth extractions for severely decayed teeth, Dental fillings and cleaning, Treatment of gum infections, Oral health education and prevention tips
All these services will be provided free of charge, ensuring that even the most vulnerable members of the community can benefit.
Community mobilization efforts are already underway, with local leaders encouraging residents to take advantage of this opportunity. The camp is expected to attract a large turnout, given the high prevalence of untreated dental conditions in the area.
Hon. Omoding has urged residents to prioritize their oral health by attending the camp.
“We cannot wait for government alone to address every health challenge. As leaders, we must step in and play our part. This is a call to all of us to work together in building a healthy nation,” he stated.
The Serere dental medical camp reflects Hon. Omoding Emmanuel’s belief that leadership is about service, not position. His ability to identify critical needs and provide practical solutions continues to earn him respect and admiration among constituents.
As the camp kicks off on 28th July 2025, thousands of smiles are expected to be restored, marking yet another chapter in Serere’s journey toward better health and well-being.
