SOROTI DISTRICT, UGANDA — As campaigns for the 2026 general elections intensify, Aspirant Hon. Anyimo Harriet, who is vying for the Member of Parliament seat for Dakabela County, has pledged to champion improved service delivery, focusing on better education, healthcare, and infrastructure for the people of Arapai Sub-county.
The Electoral Commission officially launched the campaign period on November 10th, paving the way for aspirants to present their manifestos to the electorate. Hon. Anyimo Harriet kicked off her campaign in Arapai Sub-county, where she interacted with residents from Onyorai, Arubela, and Amotot villages who expressed deep concerns over years of limited development in their communities.
Voters highlighted challenges including poor road infrastructure, lack of medical facilities, and inadequate education services. Many residents said these issues have affected their livelihoods and slowed down the growth of Dakabela County.
“Our biggest problem is the road network. During the rainy season, it’s nearly impossible to reach health centers or markets,” said one resident from Onyorai village. “Our schools also need attention; teachers are few, and some are forced to stay away because they live far from the schools. We want a leader who will address these problems.”
In response, Aspirant Hon. Anyimo Harriet assured the people of Arapai that their concerns are valid and central to her campaign agenda. She pledged to be a voice for the community in Parliament, lobbying for tangible improvements in social services and infrastructure once elected.
“I have heard your concerns loud and clear,” Hon. Anyimo stated. “If entrusted with your mandate, I will advocate for better road networks to connect our communities, support the education sector through teacher accommodation and improved school facilities, and ensure our health centers are well-equipped and functional.”
Education, she said, remains a cornerstone of her vision for Dakabela. She promised to fight for teacher motivation, construction of staff housing, and provision of essential learning materials to curb absenteeism and raise education standards in rural schools.
“Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. We must ensure that every child in Dakabela has access to quality education under better learning conditions,” she emphasized.
On healthcare, Hon. Anyimo committed to lobbying for more medical supplies, staff, and better-equipped facilities, particularly in hard-to-reach areas. She noted that improving healthcare will boost productivity and enhance the overall wellbeing of the people.
“No mother or child should lose their life due to lack of medicine or access to a nearby health center. I will ensure our health systems work for everyone,” she said.
Her pledge to prioritize development and practical leadership was warmly received by residents who turned up in large numbers to welcome her. Many expressed optimism that Hon. Anyimo’s people-centered approach could bring lasting change to Dakabela County.
As the campaign season unfolds, Aspirant Hon. Anyimo Harriet continues to win hearts with her message of service, unity, and transformation — positioning herself as a strong contender committed to addressing the real needs of the people of Dakabela.
