The Gulu sessions, however, faced some opposition from within the parliamentary ranks. A segment of opposition MPs chose to boycott the meeting, reflecting ongoing internal disagreements and dissent within the opposition ranks.

During the Gulu sitting on Thursday, President Yoweri Museveni urged local communities to adopt his 4-acre model for prosperity, which emphasizes self-sufficiency and agricultural productivity on a small scale. He also highlighted the importance of utilizing the current road infrastructure effectively before the government embarks on further major road development projects in the region.

The initiative to hold regional plenary sessions underscores a commitment to decentralizing parliamentary activities and fostering greater engagement between lawmakers and local communities.
