Gonzaga Vincent Ntalo Endorses Museveni, Urges Teso Region to Support President in 2026 Elections
Soroti City, Uganda — Gonzaga Vincent Ntalo, the businessman and former presidential aspirant, has officially withdrawn from the 2026 race and is now rallying support for President Yoweri Museveni, urging residents of the Teso region to back the incumbent leader.
In an interview with Kyoga Veritas Radio, Gonzaga highlighted the significant benefits the region has received under the 39-year rule of the National Resistance Movement (NRM).
He emphasized that continued support for President Museveni is crucial to fulfilling longstanding promises made to Teso, a region he describes as needing virtuous governance and improved service delivery.
“Other candidates have many ideas, but we believe President Museveni remains the best to lead this country forward,” Gonzaga stated. “We ask the people of Teso to vote for him and the NRM because there are unfinished Projects here that can only be completed under his leadership. We need your confidence and support.”
Gonzaga, a businessman dealing in produce sales between Busia and Soroti, revealed that he withdrew from the presidential race after the NRM party leadership decided to make Museveni run unopposed. He explained that the party later approached him to mobilize votes for the president, a request he accepted to strengthen the party’s position.
Despite his age, Gonzaga expressed confidence in Museveni’s energy and ability to lead the nation through current challenges. He also emphasized the government’s development programs targeted at the youth, including Youth Livelihood, Emyooga, and the Parish Development Model, which aim to uplift young people from poverty.
Addressing the youth, Gonzaga urged a shift from job-seeking to entrepreneurship, encouraging young people to pursue self-employment avenues. He pointed out that civil servants are employed but often unhappy, suggesting that increased self-employment could lead to greater fulfillment and economic growth.
As the country approaches the 2026 elections, Gonzaga’s endorsement signals a strategic move to consolidate support for Museveni in the Teso region, emphasizing continuity and development under the current leadership.
