Centenary Bank Supports St. Peter’s Cathedral Construction with Generous Donation

On Sunday, October 6, 2024, Centenary Bank’s Soroti branch made a noteworthy contribution to the ongoing construction of St. Peter’s Cathedral in Soroti City, reinforcing its commitment to community support.

In a demonstration of social responsibility, the bank donated 76 bags of cement to assist the diocese with the building of this iconic cathedral.

Rashid Musisi-Ssamanda, Chief Manager of Corporate and SME at Centenary Bank, along with other bank staff, personally delivered the donation and emphasized the bank’s dedication to uplifting communities across Uganda.

Musisi-Ssamanda highlighted the bank’s deep-rooted tradition of giving back: “Every year, we allocate 2% of our net worth from the previous year to our corporate social responsibility programs.

While today we’re supporting the church, our contributions extend far beyond, positively impacting communities nationwide.”

He also underscored Centenary Bank’s inclusive approach, ensuring that its services are accessible to all individuals, regardless of their backgrounds.

Additionally, Musisi-Ssamanda showcased the bank’s innovative digital services, which have made banking more convenient than ever before.

Reverend Emmanuel Elianu, the priest at St. Peter’s Cathedral, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the bank’s generous contribution.

In a further announcement, Reverend Elianu informed the community that St. Peter’s Cathedral has become an official agent for Centenary Bank in Soroti, enabling local residents to perform deposits and other banking transactions directly at the cathedral.

With this significant donation, Centenary Bank continues to reinforce its legacy of supporting community development and improving the lives of Ugandans.
