The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has allowed FUFA authorization to have global matches at Mandela Public Arena (Namboole).

This was uncovered in a FUFA proclamation delivered today, thirteenth May, 2024.
“CAF has conceded FUFA authorization to have Worldwide Matches at Mandela Public Arena (Namboole). This hence suggests that Uganda Cranes will have the forthcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier matches against Botswana and Algeria in June at Namboole.” Peruses an assertion from FUFA.
The last time Uganda Cranes facilitated a game at Mandela Public Arena was in 2019, a 2-0 win over Malawi because of objectives from Fahad Bayo and Emmanuel Okwi.
Fourteen days prior, FUFA organized an Uganda Chief Association doubleheader on first May as a component of test occasions for CAF to concede the green light.
Uganda Cranes will have Botswana on seventh June and Algeria on tenth June in consecutive home games.
On fifteenth April, 2024, the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anita Among while on a visit through the public arena going through remodel works coordinated the Service of Schooling and Sports to ask CAF to re-survey the arena.
The Speaker’s mandate followed CAF’s dismissal of the Arena saying the works were unsatisfactory.
The CAF assessment report demonstrated then that Namboole’s remodel works were underneath the necessary norm and in this manner were not endorsed for the impending 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers late in June.
