Soroti Catholic Diocese calls for adoption of Four-Acre Model

Bishop of Soroti Catholic Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Eciru Oliach

The Bishop of Soroti Catholic Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Eciru Oliach, has called on farmers in Teso to adopt the four-acre model as promoted by President Yoweri Museveni, as part of a broader wealth creation initiative.

He emphasized that even families with limited land can prosper by implementing the four-acre model farming system, a strategic approach designed to transform subsistence farming into a viable commercial enterprise.

Bishop Eciru underscored that embracing this system will unlock new economic opportunities and promote sustainable livelihoods within Ugandan communities.

Margaret Etilu, the NRM flag bearer for Woman Member of Parliament in Amuria District, welcomed the bishop’s appeal.

Etilu highlighted the importance of responsible leadership in effectively implementing initiatives such as the Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, and other youth empowerment schemes.
