24 Year Old Female Mbale City Resident Killed in Kumi Municipality

KUMI DISTRICT: A 24-year-old woman, Sulaima Musa, a resident of Nandala Cell, Nandala Ward, Nakaloke Municipality, Mbale City, was found dead in Kumi Municipality. According to Edson Obukulem, the Acting Spokesperson for East Kyoga Police, the victim is suspected to have been murdered by her husband, Ramathan, on the night of September 9, 2024, at an unknown time in Bazaar Cell, Kumi Municipality.

The police at Kumi Central Police Station were notified, and a case was registered under CRB 498/2024. A team of police officers, led by Superintendent Edatu Cosmas, visited the scene. Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspect and the deceased had been living together in Mbale City and had one child. The suspect later moved to Kumi Municipality, where he rented a house and started a watermelon business.

Unconfirmed sources indicate that on September 9, 2024, the deceased visited the suspect’s home in Bazaar Cell and found him with another woman, leading to a fight. The suspect is alleged to have killed the deceased during the night. The body has been taken to Atutur Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination. The suspect, Ramathan, a 32-year-old male, is currently at large.
