Police in Tororo are searching for the unknown assailant responsible for the death of a 16-year-old boy.
The body of Ashraf Mukisa, from Bison ‘B’ village in Western Division, Tororo Municipality, was discovered in a pool of blood along corridors opposite the Total Nagongera petrol station near New Life Bar, also known as Kisangani.
The teen suffered multiple cuts on the neck and head.
According to Bukedi South Police spokesperson Moses Mugwe, Mukisa was a chapati seller on Lower Bazor Street, near the MTN Tororo branch offices.
Veronica Alowo, Mukisa’s mother, confirmed she had been with her son the previous day and was bewildered as to why someone would murder him.
Police have launched an investigation into the case and are optimistic about finding the person responsible for the murder.
The scene was examined and documented by homicide detectives, led by SP Sabila Sadat and the DPC Tororo. Statements were collected from witnesses.
Police have urged residents to avoid walking alone in dark spots and areas without CCTV cameras as they pledge to strengthen patrols.
Mukisa’s body was taken to Tororo General Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem examination.
